Work, Welfare and Care
People’s everyday experiences of work, welfare and care are central to social justice. Having a good quality job that feels secure and meaningful matters. So does being able to rely on effective welfare support when it is needed.
Being able to care for one another, and be cared for ourselves, is equally important. When these needs are met, people have the stability to build fulfilling lives, raise happy children, support loved ones and enjoy later life with dignity. They are more likely to enjoy good health, participate in their communities and plan confidently for the future. The Centre for People’s Justice brings together academics, public services, charities, trade unions, private companies and community organisations to build research that helps improve law and better supports people to live well.
